The St. Joseph County Auditor, John Murphy, and Chief Deputy Auditor, Abby Doyle to hold a press conference on June 23, 2026 at 12:00 PM, or immediately after the Board of Commissioner’s meeting, should it run past noon. The press conference will be in the lobby of the County Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, IN 46601.

The St. Joseph County Auditor’s Office will be announcing that St. Joseph County is a recipient of GFOA’s Triple Crown of Government Finance Officers Association awards. These recognitions are considered the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. They reflect a commitment to transparency, accountability, and providing residents, taxpayers, investors, and community stakeholders with clear and reliable financial information.

In granting these awards, GFOA stated in their own press release, “the awards represent a significant achievement by the entity. It reflects the commit of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.”

Chief Deputy Auditor Abby Doyle said, “These achievements are the result of combining decades of institutional knowledge with a commitment to modernization and continuous improvement. By building on the experience and expertise of long-serving public servants while embracing enhanced financial reporting and stronger processes, our office has been able to improve transparency and accountability to the public. This recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team and demonstrates what can be accomplished when experience and innovation work together.”

Auditor John Murphy added, “these GFOA awards demonstrate that St. Joseph County is dedicated to excellence, transparency, and accountability in its financial reporting and budgeting.
